LMR to Feature Interactive Interviews at the Powerhouse
In a unique new musical effort to be hosted by YAC at the Powerhouse – Living Music Resource (LMR) – is bringing a new program to the forefront that will place innovative artists, musicians and vocalists in the local and worldwide spotlight.
According to the YAC website, LMR™ produces a highly successful groundbreaking interactive interview series, called the Beat, which features prominent artists and pedagogues that is streamed live via LMR’s website.
Professional singer and University of Mississippi music professor, Nancy Maria Balach, is scheduled to host the upcoming web series. The innovative talk show format will be presented in front of a live studio audience and will included an international real time viewing audience via the web.
The first of two scheduled web interviews will be held on Tuesday, January 26, and will feature author Matthew Hoch.
Hoch will be present to discuss Secular and Sacred Musical Knowledge – Empowering both the Professional and the Appreciator of Vocal Music which was inspired by his recently published books: Dictionary for the Modern Singer (Rowman and Littlefield, 2014) and Welcome to Church Music & The Hymnal 1982 (Morehouse, 2015). The evening will also include a musical performance by members of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford under the direction of Steve Taranto.
On Thursday, February 4, the Beat will focus on Paul Houghtaling and Chad Payton who will offer advice on the Art of Auditioning. Whether you are interested in a career in opera or musical theatre; Balach, Houghtailing and Payton’s discussion will provide great insight on getting cast.
The Living Music Resource™ (LivingMusicResource) has many exciting upcoming activities that create collaborations on and off the Ole Miss campus. LMR™ continues to focus on educational experiences that are interactive, informative, inspirational, fun and unexpected; and ones that help bridge a unique connection between the concertgoer and performer.
Both of these discussions will be held from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
