Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, January 22 – 24
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 12 suspicious activities, 10 alarms, nine welfare concerns, five noise violations, four lost properties, four burglaries (The Retreat, The Connection, The Retreat and South 18th Street) three disturbances, three careless drivers, three motorist assists, three malicious mischief, two improper parking, two animal complaints, two simple assaults, a shoplifting, a fire department assist, a recovered property, a civil matter, and a code violation.
Oxford police issued 99 traffic citations and made 19 arrests on the following charges:

(4) Minor in possession
Trespassing
Warrant served
Public intoxication and fake ID
Speeding and no driver’s license
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Speeding and minor in possession
Wrong way on a One-Way and a DUI
Disturbing the peace and public intoxication
Ran a stop sign, minor in possession and DUI
Public intoxication, resisting arrest and fake ID
Public intoxication and possession of Schedule IV narcotics
University police department responded to the following incidents:
Friday, January 22

Suspicious vehicle at Crosby Hall
Trespassing at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Possession of drug paraphernalia at Martin Hall
Saturday, January 23

Sunday, January 24
(4) Vehicle stops
Possession of drug paraphernalia and fake ID in Kincannon field lot
Service call for an ambulance at the Pavilion at Ole Miss
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Friday, January 22
Water flow alarm activation at 2:14 p.m. caused by a broken sprinkler pipe at Pi Kappa Alpha house
Saturday, January 23
Sprinkler system malfunction at 7:10 a.m. at the Rebel Club (east side of the stadium)
Alarm system shut-down at 6:40 p.m. by public service while refilling the sprinkler system at Pi Kappa Alpha house
Sunday, January 24
Fire alarm activation at 1:30 a.m. by a pull-station on second floor of 206 Town Center Drive – Highland Place
Reported smell of gas at 1:21 p.m. at 209 Sisk Avenue, but fire department did not smell any gas upon arrival and the reading was 0 on the gas monitor
Water flow alarm at 11:22 p.m. caused by a basement pressure switch at Brevard Hall
