Yalobusha Brewing Co’s Friday Evening Tour Program Canceled Due to Weather Concerns
A popular 6 p.m. Friday evening event has taken root in our area as the Yalobusha Brewing Company on Main Street in downtown Water Valley plays host to what will become one of our favorite weekly gatherings right in the heart of Boom Town.
The program, aptly titled Brewery Tours Tasting and Tunes by brewery owner Andy O’Bryan, will host a different local musical performance from 6-9 p.m. every Friday evening… except tonight (Friday, January 22).
Due to the weather system that rolled into our area early this morning, this week’s festivities are canceled due to safety concerns for loyal patrons who would be forced to drive into the re-building downtown district of Water Valley.
Under normal circumstances, the weekly tours begin at 1 p.m. and require a $10 fee. However, the brewery’s 6 p.m. music blocks are free and begin early enough that attendees are guaranteed an early night. The $10 fee includes a tour of the unique brewery as well as six 6-ounce samples of Yalo beer; 36 awesome ounces in total. The brewery also allows patrons to bring food from any local restaurant if they wish.
During the first week of the program, the brewery hosted musician Andrew Bryant; the second, Jimbo Mathus and Them Dirty Crooks and both events were a big hit as patrons flocked to the new venue.
Next week, God willing, organizers of the events will re-load and it’ll back to business as usual.
