For many, the start of a new year is about making resolutions. For business owners, January is a time to set goals, make plans and schedule upcoming promotions.

I checked in with a few of Oxford’s favorite eateries to find out what they’ve got in the works for us in 2016 and was excited to hear about their upcoming plans. Read on for your own 2016 restaurant sneak peek!

Bim-Bam-Burgers

Bim Bam Burgers and Wings: Restaurant owner Tony Barragan said that in addition to a recent remodel, Oxford can expect to see Bim Bam getting involved in more Oxford events in 2016. “We’ll also be expanding the brand to Batesville and New Albany, this year,” said Barragan.

Boneheads: Fit Fresh Go meals are the latest offering from Boneheads, according to Ashley Wisch, partner and director of marketing & brand. “Fit Fresh Go meals have the perfect balance of protein, carbs, and fats in one container,” said Wisch. “The meals can be ordered online, by phone or in-store.” Additionally, Boneheads is outfitting its Jackson Avenue location with an indoor bar and will begin offering happy hour food and drink specials from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, according to Wisch. Starting in February, check out the Boneheads Facebook page for a new live music calendar.

Cabin 82

Cabin 82 and The Coop at The Graduate: Chef de cuisine at The Graduate Oxford, Jon Davis, said that a new expanded menu is being rolled out in Cabin 82 with new breakfast and lunch options that customers have been asking for. “Some of the additions will include whole wheat pancakes with maple syrup and orange whipped cream, and our Hangover Breakfast with pulled pork, pepper jack Mornay, sunny side up egg, and chow chow on Texas toast,” said Davis. “My favorite new item is the Cabin 82 Burger, which contains two 4-ounce Angus beef patties, American cheese, tomatoes, pickles, and Dijonnaise, on a toasted brioche bun. Customers can add bacon or a fried egg for a few bucks extra.” Along with the new menu, Cabin 82 and The Coop will also begin offering daily specials.

Chick-fil-A: Owner Lance Reed said that Chick-fil-A has a ton going on in 2016, starting with Chick-fil-A One, available through the Chick-fil-A mobile app, that allows customers to bypass the line, earn free food, and order and pay via a mobile device. Also new is the Superfood side, which Reed said has replaced coleslaw as of January 11. “The Superfood Side is a chopped broccolini and kale blend, tossed in a sweet and tangy maple vinaigrette and topped with dried sour cherries,” said Reed. Coming up March 7 will be a Frosted Coffee shake and a Spicy Southwest Salad, according to Reed. And later in the year, watch for delicious new dressings and a health-conscious breakfast sandwich in August.

Delta Steak Company: In addition to adding lunch to the lineup, owners Allen and Erin Sanders said that by spring 2016, Delta Steak Company in Abbeville will have an outdoor back patio for dining. “Our goal by the next football season is also to open up the back room and allow customers to sit near the grill where they can watch the steaks being cooked,” said Allen.

Mr. Feather’s Honky Tonk: Coupled with half-price steaks on Sundays, owner Scott Michael said Mr. Feather’s Honky Tonk will be adding on-site crawfish cookouts in 2016. “We’ll have fresh-cooked crawfish, seafood gumbo, Pride of Pond catfish, homemade hushpuppies, great music and free line dancing lessons this year,” said Michael. Kids will continue to eat free on Friday nights.

Newk’s Eatery: Throughout 2016, Newk’s will run several promotions for different limited-time menu offerings, according to system marketing manager Katie Twiford. For example, from now through April 10, crawfish lovers can enjoy Crawfish Pizza, Crawfish Mac & Cheese, and Crawfish Pimiento Mac & Cheese. “We’ll also be highlighting existing items, such as those that fall into our 600 Calorie Menu,” said Twiford.

Oyster & Seafood

Oyster & Seafood: For 2016, general manager Justin Hill said that Oyster & Seafood has expanded its food and beverage menu, offering more grilled items for lunch and adding requested entrees such as lamb chops and shrimp and grits. Additionally, restaurant hours have changed to Tuesday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. (open until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday).
