Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Monday, January 15 – 18
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 19 suspicious activities, 14 disturbances, 12 alarms, seven alarms, five malicious mischief, four civil matters, three petit larcenies, three lost properties, three 911 hang-up calls, three auto burglaries (Clearbrook, Cypress Circle and Rosemont Drive), two careless drivers, a fire department assist, a noise violation, an animal complaint, an improper parking, a simple assault, a motorist assist, a littering, a grand larceny, a shoplifting, harassing phone calls, a house burglary at Clearbrook subdivision and an armed robbery at Regions Bank on Jackson Avenue.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 91 traffic citations and made 19 arrests on the following charges:

Noise violation
Speeding and DUI
Domestic violence
Speeding and no driver’s license
No seatbelt and failure to comply
Trespassing and public intoxication
Careless driving, expired tag and DUI
No driver’s license, no insurance and DUI
Disturbing the peace and public intoxication
No seatbelt, expired tag and suspended driver’s license
Careless driving, reckless driving, ran stop sign, ran red light and failure to yield
Reckless driving, wrong way on a one way, failure to comply, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents:
Friday, January 15

Accidental hit and run at Stockard Hall
Traffic assist at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Saturday, January 16
Vehicle with improper tint at Campus Walk Apartments
Traffic assist at the Pavilion at Ole Miss and Parking garage
Assault at Turner Center
Public drunk at Stockard Hall
Sunday, January 17
(5) Vehicle stops
Suspicious person at Rebel Drive
Speeding vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, no car insurance and a suspended driver’s license on campus
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:

Cancelled call at 8:36 a.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital
Cancelled call at 4:38 p.m. at 110 Ed Perry Boulevard
Saturday, January 16
Pull station activation at 3:06 a.m. on second and third floors at 1400 Van Buren
Sunday, January 17

Monday, January 18
Emergency medical assist at 4:13 p.m. to Headquarters Hair Salon
Smoke detector activation at 4:34 p.m. caused by burned food in the kitchen at The Inn at Ole Miss
Alarm at 10:27 p.m. at 1075 Augusta Drive but the resident met the fire department outside, saying it was a false alarm
