Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, January 12
Oxford police responded to the following calls: three disturbances, three suspicious activities, two alarms, a grand larceny, a welfare concern, a simple assault, a forgery, a fire department assist, and a burglary at Courthouse Square.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 37 traffic citations and made one arrest for careless driving without insurance but with a DUI.
University police responded to the following incidents: a suspicious vehicle in Kincannon parking lot, a disturbance at Northgate Apartments, an accidental hit-and-run at Ford Center, and a petit larceny at Turner Center.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Heat duct detector activation at 12:36 a.m. by burned food in the kitchen at McDonald’s on University Avenue
Heat duct detector malfunction at 8:19 a.m. at McDonald’s on University Avenue
Heat duct detector malfunction at 12:28 p.m. in the basement at The Inn at Ole Miss
