Oxford Film Festival’s Feature Documentaries Promise to Captivate
The 13th annual Oxford Film Festival (OFF) is just weeks away and promises to keep patrons captivated throughout the four day event with over 140 films from all genres.
Arguably, the most highly anticipated selections of films each year are the features; ones that usually attract a standing room only audience.
This year, OFF is touting approximately 25 feature selections that include what they consider several “can’t miss” documentaries (listed below):
• An Open Secret by Amy Berg is a “devastating documentary about the sexual abuse of minors in Hollywood.”
• A Poem Is A Naked Person by Les Banks is a “long-awaited profile of musician Leon Russell.”
• The Armor Of Light by Abigail Disney “takes a look at an evangelical preacher’s efforts to discuss gun control.”
• Longleaf: The Heart Of Pine by Rex Jones “which traces the history and current status of the South’s primeval forest.” This film is also listed a world premiere at this year’s festival.
• Fundi: The Story Of Ella Baker “which looks at the life of the civil rights figure.”
As we progressively creep toward opening night of the 13th annual Oxford Film Festival, HottyToddy.com encourages readers to stay tuned as we continue our comprehensive coverage of the films, the festival and its peripheral programming.
The 2016 Oxford Film Festival is set for February 17-21 and will be held predominantly at Malco Oxford Commons.
