Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, December 22
The Oxford police report an attempted strong-armed robbery at Clearbrook. A third-party bought this information to the police since the alleged victim did not wish to speak with the police nor report the crime.
Major Jeff McCutchen said in an email: “At this time we do not know if a weapon was used. No one was injured and we cannot say at this time if the alleged suspect is the same one from Regions.”
Oxford police responded to the following incidents:eight alarms, five suspicious activities, four ambulance assists, four welfare concerns, two scams, two motorist assists, two animal complaints, a lost property, a civil matter, a disturbance, a noise violation, a petit larceny, an improper parking, a burglary at Lafayette Place, a false pretense and a Department for Human Services assist.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 13 traffic citations and made four arrests on the following charges:

University police responded to the following incidents: two vehicle stops and four traffic assists.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Heat duct detector malfunction at 12:47 a.m. and 1:09 a.m. at Stewart Hall
Smoke detector activation at 2:08 p.m. from possibly the floors being waxed at Kincannon Hall
The Mississippi Highway Patrol will begin the 2015 Christmas Holiday Travel Enforcement Period on Wednesday, December 23 at 6 p.m. and will conclude Sunday, December 27 at midnight.
