Rebels Host Troy to Close Out Tad Pad
Tuesday afternoon, the Ole Miss Rebels’ men’s basketball team returns to action in the Tad Smith Coliseum for the last time as they take on Troy. Game time is slated to begin at 3 p.m. and will be on SEC Network.
Admission into the game will only be a dollar per ticket and the first 1,000 fans get a Pavilion snow globe.
Ole Miss enters the game with a 9-2 record on the season after defeating the Memphis Tigers 85-79 in the FedEx Forum. Senior Stefan Moody leads the Rebels with 21 points as teammate Martavious Newby scored 12 points and pulled in a additional 12 rebounds.
The Trojans are 5-5 this year after defeating NAIA Paine College 85-77 last week. Troy has two wins against NAIA teams this season and are 3-5 against D-I competition. Sophomore guard Wesley Person leads the team in scoring at 18.0 ppg and is one of three Trojans averaging in double figures.
Freshman forward Jordon Varnado is second on the squad in scoring at 17.7 ppg and leads the team pulling down 8.3 boards a game. Troy is averaging 76.4 ppg, but is allowing 75.8 ppg.
Tuesday’s game will be the 10th meeting between the Rebels and the Trojans, with Ole Miss winning all nine previous matchups. The Rebels knocked off Troy 74-64 on the road last season and are 7-0 against the Trojans in Oxford.
Fans who will not be in town for this 3 p.m. game can watch the game on SEC Network or listen to it on the Ole Miss Radio Network.
