Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, December 17
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four suspicious activities, four welfare concerns, two lost properties, an ambulance assist, a public intoxication, an improper parking, a 911 hang up call, a malicious mischief, a fire department assist, a disturbance, an alarm, and an animal complaint.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 29 traffic citations and made eight arrests on the following charges:
(4) Shoplifting
Public intoxication
Public intoxication and resisting arrest
No seatbelt, suspended driver’s license and DUI
Careless driving, illegal lighting, possession of Schedule IV narcotics and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: seven vehicle stops, vehicle accident at Central Mechanical Plant, and a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Sprinkler system activation at 7:36 a.m. at Oxford Health & Rehab – no cause was discovered
Smoke detector malfunction at 11:33 a.m. at The Thompson House
Light ballast burned at 5:33 p.m. at Tower Loans
