Elston, Nkemdiche, Treadwell named AP All-Americans
Three Ole Miss players were named to Associated Press All-America teams Sunday. Safety Trae Elston and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche were named to the second team, while wide receiver Laquon Treadwell was on the third team.
Nkemdiche and Treadwell were also named second team All-Americans by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, as was offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.
This is the first time in his career that Elston, a senior from Oxford, Alabama, has been named an All-American. He has started 12 games this season for the Rebels and ranks second in the Southeastern Conference with 16 passes defended and is tied for fourth with four interceptions. Showing his versatility, Elston has split time at free safety and Rover for Ole Miss this year. Two of his interceptions went for pick-sixes.

At Full Strength, Treadwell ready to be apart of Ole Miss Sugar Bowl History
Just a year ago, an injured Laquon Treadwell could only sit by and watch as his team was dismantled, 42-3, by Texas Christian University in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. But now, a year later, the junior wide receiver is at full strength and looks to make a positive impact for No. 12 Ole Miss in this year’s Allstate Sugar Bowl against No. 16 Oklahoma State (10-2, 7-2 Big 12).
Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze has already told his players to stay focused, advising the team that the trip to New Orleans is not a getaway vacation.
“We are going out there to win the game, so he just got straight to the point with us,” Treadwell said of his head coach’s comments.
This will mark the ninth appearance in the Sugar Bowl for Ole Miss, matching Florida and Georgia for third-most among all college football programs. The Rebels’ last appearance in the prestigious bowl was in 1970 with Archie Manning at the helm, in what would be a 27-22 victory over Arkansas. Ole Miss made eight appearances in the Sugar Bowl from 1953-70, winning five of them.

Todd McShay’s initial 2016 mock draft includes 10 SEC first-rounders
There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and SEC football players getting drafted in the first round.
ESPN’s Todd McShay released his first 2016 mock draft on Wednesday, and 10 of the 32 players he projects are SEC players, including five of the top 11.
It’s still fairly early in the evaluation process for NFL teams, which aren’t even close to producing their own big boards yet. But time’s running out for players to put good performances on video, and performing in shorts and T-shirts and in interviews can only do so much for a player’s NFL prospects.
Here’s how the SEC’s first-round players currently project, according to McShay:
