8 Top Google Searches Made by Mississippians in 2015
Estately.com, a real-estate website, discovered the top google searches of all 50 U.S. states in 2015. From scandals to music, celebrity deaths to politics, Islamic states to fad dances, each state had a different topic that its residents were interested in the most.
Mississippi lead the search for several different topics such as dances, celebrities, fads and initiatives.
One of the most googled people in Mississippi in 2015 was B.B. King, a notorious blues musician from the Mississippi Delta. King died on May 14. His body was brought from Las Vegas, Nevada to Indianola, Mississippi to the B.B. King Blues Museum.
The U.S. Supreme Court and the Common Core State Standards Initiative sparked also interest in Mississippi politics this year. Initiative 42 might have been the reason that Mississippians were so interested in the two topics. The initiative was a public schools funding issue that was voted on by the people this year.
