Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, December 10
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six welfare concerns, three noise violations, three alarms, three malicious mischief, two careless drivers, two suspicious activities, a lost property, a civil matter, a disturbance, a fire department assist, an animal complaint, a shoplifting, and a simple assault.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued 33 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:

Careless driving and DUI
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of Schedule I narcotics
Possession of Schedule II narcotics
No seatbelt, suspended driver’s license and no insurance
University police responded to the following incidents: a vehicle stop on All-American Drive, harassing phone calls at Lyceum and Sommerville, a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive, and a possession of drug paraphernalia in Kincannon Hall parking lot.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Wednesday, December 9
Smoke detector activation at 6:05 p.m. by cooking in Room 213 at TownePlace Suites by Marriott
Fire at 10:02 p.m. caused by something on the stove catching fire then spreading to the cabinets at The Links, Building 4, Apartment 6
Thursday, December 10
Fire at 1:10 p.m. caused by cooking french fries at 205 Pleasant Drive
Smoke detector malfunction at 11:56 p.m. at the Alpha Tau Omega house
