Oxford Crime Report: Monday, November 23
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, five alarms, two welfare concerns, two 911 hang up calls, two petit larcenies, two recovered properties, an animal complaint, an identity theft, a disturbance, a lost property, and a fire department assist.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 18 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
Shoplifting
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance
University police responded to the following incidents:
(2) Vehicle stops
Possession of beer by minor in the Grove
Disturbance of peace at Bondurant Hall
Larceny of bicycles at Deaton Hall
Reported burglary at Kincannon Hall
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smell of smoke at 6:34 a.m. by a light ballast going bad
House fire at 10:02 a.m. at 2414 South Lamar
The house fire incident is still under investigation, but no injuries were reported.
