Baseball Hires Jake Scott as Director of Operations
Jake Scott has been named as a director of operations for the Ole Miss baseball program, head coach Mike Bianco announced. After spending the previous six seasons with the Diamond Rebs in different roles, Scott joins Marc MacMillan as one of two directors of operations for the Rebels.
“Having been around the team as a student manager as well as the head equipment manager, we are excited to welcome Jake Scott back to the Ole Miss baseball program,” said Bianco. “Jake is a selfless individual with a fantastic work ethic. He has all the right qualities we look for in a director of operations.”
In his return to his alma mater, Scott will perform a variety of operational duties that include: overseeing the ordering of equipment and apparel, coordinating team meals and assisting with team travel.
Scott served as the Rebels’ equipment manager last season before becoming the assistant coach at Northeast Mississippi Community College. When the director of operations position opened up, Scott jumped at the opportunity to apply.
“I am happy to be back in Oxford and to be working with Ole Miss Baseball again,” Scott said. “It’s an exciting time to be an Ole Miss Rebel.”
Scott graduated from Ole Miss in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in general studies. As a student, he worked with the Rebel baseball team for five seasons; he remained with the team following graduation.
A native of Booneville, Mississippi, Scott attended Booneville High School. He lettered in baseball and football prior to graduating in 2009.
