According to Michael Savage, “We’ve lost a major battle for Western civilization” in reference to the millions of refugees who are flooding much of Europe and the United States. He goes on to admonish the likes of Angela Merkel and Barack Obama for “invading” their own countries and “wiping away the predominant, culture, language and customs.” Is he right… and should we surrender?

While it might not be time to give up, Dr. Savage does have some support for his argument. Refugees are pouring into Europe and certain factions within the U.S. are clamoring to take “our fair share.”

There also seems to be a dispute even among different camps within the Administration. Secretary of State John Kerry insists there isn’t any risk in embracing more and more Syrian refugees from that war-ravaged country. He has repeatedly stated that they are the “most highly scrutinized” and “most rigorously vetted” of all travelers to the United States and that we should not fear ISIS infiltrating that group… even though they’ve openly promised to do so.

Conversely, FBI Director James Comey disagrees. He says that it’s not possible for us to properly vet Syrian refugees because there are no valid data points against which to check the past activity of the vast majority of Syrians. He thinks ISIS rebels could readily slip into the refugee base.

The issue isn’t so much “who’s right”… it’s more of an issue of what are the consequences of being wrong. We seem to struggle with the importance of protecting against the “downside” of our political decisions.

Moreover, some of our politicians have used any objections to the mass migration to chastise their own constituents.

For example, Minnesota’s Governor Mark Dayton recently rebuked his state’s citizens who objected to the large infusion of Somalian immigrants it was receiving by saying: “If you are that intolerant, if you are that much of a racist or a bigot, then find another state.” He went on to complain that Minnesota’s economy “cannot expand based on white, B+, native-born citizens. We don’t have enough.” While that may sound every bit as racist and bigoted, it apparently is exempt from criticism under the shield of political correctness.

Leo Hohmann, an editor for WorldNet Daily, joins Graceland host, Jennifer Meadows, and her co-host, T.J. O’Hara in a discussion of these issues. Should America open its shores to more refugees or should it follow a more cautious path? Join us on Graceland to discuss the growing issue of immigration. Listen in…
