Texas A&M brought a different shade of maroon to the Grove Saturday. It was enjoyable visiting with all the Texans as the intense rivalry between the two schools is closer to a mutual admiration society than a “hate state affair.”

HottyToddy.com had the pleasure to cross paths with three outstanding young men along The Walk of Champions: Ryan McDonald (Junior from San Antonio), Aaron Miller(Senior from Houston) and Joseph Martin (Junior from Dallas).

We asked the trio for their initial reactions to the Grove….
“Amazing girls”
“Great hospitality”
“Beautiful campus”
“Great tailgating turnout”

I then turned the discussion to the football game at hand and asked for their predictions:
Ryan: 28-24 Aggies
Aaron: 34-20 Aggies
Joseph: 27-20 Aggies

It was interesting that none picked the Rebs even though Vegas had Ole Miss by 6 1/2. I told the guys that we would publish their predictions regardless of the outcome.

Texas A&M is a class university with great fans, students and alums. I wish we could host them every year as they are a quality group of individuals in every respect.

I did learn a new term Saturday. A “two per center” is an Aggie who leaves the stadium prior to the game ending. I wonder what we would call those party goers who return to the Grove at halftime? It just came to me….”A half way house.” (Only joking!)
