Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, October 20
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, six suspicious activities, four auto burglaries, two disturbing the peace, two welfare concerns, two civil matters, two larcenies, a lost and found property, a parking complaint, an abuse of vulnerable adult, a careless driving, a counterfeit currency, and a malicious mischief.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 23 traffic citations and made five arrests on the following charges:
Shoplifting
Public drunk
Public drunk with possession of fake ID
Careless driving, DUI and possession of fake ID
Ran stop sign, no liability insurance nor driver’s license
University police responded to the following incidents:
A vehicle stop on North Lane
Public drunk at Kincannon Hall
Traffic detail on University Avenue
Possession of alcohol at Martin Hall
Intoxicated person at Tad Smith Coliseum
Possession of drug paraphernalia at Campus Walk
Emergency medical services requested for an intoxicated person at Resident Hall 1
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Employees stuck in an elevator at 8:54 a.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital
Heating unit issue at 10:25 a.m. due to its blower motor locking up and smoking at 528 Hathorn Road
Public assist at 12:02 p.m. at McDonald’s on University Avenue
