Oxford Lovepacks Thanks Community for Continued Support in Open Letter

Dear Oxford Community,

We want to say a huge thank you for your continued support of Lovepacks. The love we feel from you all never stops! We started off the year 2015 strong and it just keeps getting better. We have been supported by Oxford Restaurant week by being chosen to receive a $5,000 donation, Apex Leadership for hosting a food drive over the summer, McDonalds for sponsoring us in their McCafe for a cause during the month of August, Oxford Commons and the North Mississippi Real Estate Alliance for raising $6,250 for Lovepacks in their charity bowling tournament, and LaRousse Salon, and Shipley’s Donuts for becoming silver sponsors. We are so grateful for all that you do.

Oxford Lovepacks is a non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger through the provision of weekend meals to children in the Oxford/Lafayette county school districts. School counselors identify students in need of weekend meals and Lovepacks are discreetly slipped into the children’s book bags on Friday afternoons. 100 percent of all donations will be used to provide food to children in the Oxford Lafayette school systems. Hunger is a critical problem in our community and across the globe. We are blessed to live in a town with such terrific non-profits, sponsors, and individuals who care for the world in which we live.

Since our start in 2010, Lovepacks has provided over 19,000 packs to children in eleven Oxford/Lafayette schools. We cannot celebrate our successes without giving credit to our ongoing core of Lovepacks supporters. This includes: Mrs. Rester and the Oxford School District for giving us the pantry space; Ms. Busby, Ms, Boyd and The Superiors for managing and organizing our pantry, the PTO and our Lovepacks moms who deliver our packs, Baptist Memorial Hospital for donating fresh fruit each week, and Larson’s Cash Saver for pounds of food at bulk cost. We are humbled by the tremendous support and effort demonstrated by individuals and organizations in our community. Thank you again to all who participate!
