Eating Oxford
Foster, Eating Oxford to Join HottyToddy.com in November
Liz Barrett Foster of the popular Facebook page Eating Oxford joined HottyToddy.com as editor of the Eating Oxford restaurant and food section of the website on Nov. 1. HottyToddy.com is acquiring the Eating Oxford page and will host its content through the website.
“I think this will be an interesting experiment,” Foster said. “We want to try it for two years and see how the Eating Oxford audience and HottyToddy.com audience fit together. I feel both audiences will grow tremendously.”
HottyToddy.com publisher Ed Meek said Foster “is one of the most capable writers” he knows.
“She has been the leading foodie and voice of Oxford’s culinary activities for years,” Meek said. “Her blog, Facebook page and website have been enjoyed by many readers throughout the region. We are delighted to have Liz join the HottyToddy.com team and through our resources, extend the reach of Eating Oxford around the world.”
Foster will maintain the Eating Oxford Facebook page as well as author original food and restaurant features on HottyToddy.com.
“What’s interesting is that half of the people who like the page are not in Oxford,” Foster said. “So many people come to Oxford for its food. They’re very interested in what we have, and I feel this page lets them know exactly what’s going on.”
For her next step, Foster hopes to bring in a new audience through her affiliation with HottyToddy.com. “People are interested in food. Why not give them restaurant information as well through stories published on the site?” she said. “This will offer them so much more.”
The Eating Oxford Facebook page will still be run by Foster and will still operate as a separate page from HottyToddy.com’s Facebook page, “If you love Oxford and Ole Miss.” Both pages will feature stories from HottyToddy.com. See the “Eating Oxford” tab on the HottyToddy.com website.
