Vassallo: Ole Miss Will Have Second Homecoming with Tunsil’s Return
Not really, but when Laremy Tunsil returns to the playing field on October 24th against Texas A&M, it will seem that way.
Ole Miss announced late last night that Tunsil has been cleared to play starting with A&M. This is great news for the offensive line and the team as a whole. With the five dangerous opponents (A&M; Auburn; Arkansas; LSU; and State) remaining, he will be welcomed with open arms! I always try to look at things on the bright side and the possibility exists that in addition to these five games, Laremy could possibly have three more in store for a total of eight should the Rebs go all the way.
This is almost an entire season for the best offensive lineman in the nation. He’s healthy; he’s rested; and is now on a mission to win the SEC West and hopefully beyond. Coach Freeze has done a job here that only happens in fairy tales. No one takes an 0-8 conference team and 3 years later (now 4 in addition) is in the discussion to win a national title.
We all need to thank him the next time we see him not only for his success, but for his dedication and just being who he is. It’s a great time to be a Rebel. Some of us older alums never thought we would see this day again. Miracles do happen.
