Hunters’ Hollow Hosts Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
Hunters’ Hollow will host a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in honor of the active law officers in Lafayette County. Officers will be able to go to Hunters’ Hollow and use the shooting range free of charge, and ammo will be furnished as well.
Donny Guest, owner of Hunters’ Hollow, said he wants the officers to know that he and his employees appreciate their hard work in Lafayette County.
“With law enforcement today going through what they’re going through, so much hateful stuff going out toward them in many ways, we want to let them know that they are appreciated and give them an opportunity to feel good about what they do,” Guest said.
Guest said he wants the officers to be able to have a fun time while they are in the shooting range.
“We might even turn it into some kind of competition for them later on,” Guest said. “We just want to allow them to come in and shoot and practice or whatever they want to do. It’s just a fun day for them.”
Guest said he also wants to host an appreciation day for officers who have never been to the shooting range.
“We already give them special rates, and some don’t know that,” Guest said. “We feel like the law enforcement has a good opportunity to use this facility and we really want to show it to them at the same time and let them know what we got.”
Guest said he is excited for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and he hopes that officers will know that Hunters’ Hollow employees strongly support their work.
“There are so many bad things being said about them, but they do such good work,” Guest said. “Nobody ever talks about all the lives they save and all that kind of stuff that they really do. What would we do without them? When you need them for help, they’re always there.”
