Michael Moore – Shoplifting
On Wednesday, October 7, the Oxford police arrested Tikeyra Sims, 26 of Oxford, for two counts of felony shoplifting and Michael Moore, 31 of Oxford for one count of felony shoplifting. Both Sims and Moore were at the Oxford Wal-Mart yesterday when the Wal-Mart employees saw Moore pushing a TV out without paying. When Moore saw Wal-Mart employees approach him, he pushed the TV outside and then fled on foot. Patrol officers pursued on foot upon spotting him running down Jackson Avenue. They chased him from Jackson Avenue to Hathorn Road where a Metro Narcotics agent was able to apprehend him. While officers were dealing with Moore, Sims was still inside attempting to steal another TV. Wal-Mart employees caught Sims as she was going outside with the TV. Once she was stopped, an investigator was called to the scene where they found another stolen TV in Sims’ car. Sims was given a bond of $2,500 and Moore was given a $1,500 bond.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, three motorist assists, three welfare concerns, two suspicious activities, two ambulance assists, two auto burglaries at The Mark and 800 Van Buren, a careless driver, a petit larceny, a fire department assist, a malicious mischief and an animal complaint.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 34 traffic citations and made nine arrests on the following charges:

(2) Speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia
Speeding, suspended driver’s license and DUI
No driver’s license and expired tag
Failure to yield and DUI
Public intoxication
University police responded to the following calls: three vehicle stops, two larceny of bicycles at Lamar Hall and Ole Miss Union, a vehicle accident at Pi Beta Phi house, and a vandalism to vehicle at Tad Smith Coliseum.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Wreck with entrapment at 1:49 p.m. at 513 County Road 202
Fire alarm activation at 9:11 p.m. by an employee accidentally hitting the fire alarm in the kitchen at Boneheads (1801 West Jackson Avenue)
Smoke detector activation at 9:35 p.m. by a person spraying bug spray at The Village Building 108, Apartment 3
