Graduate Oxford Opens Cabin 82 Cafe on October 8

Graduate Oxford is pleased to announce the opening of Cabin 82, the hotel’s café and coffee shop, on October 8, 2015.

Situated just off the lobby in the hotel located at 400 North Lamar Boulevard, Cabin 82 is an updated homage to Mississippi’s rustic traditions serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

In the kitchen, chef Jon Davis has created a menu of classic Southern comfort food, as well as traditional offerings for guests dining in or on-the-go. For breakfast, guests can enjoy menu items such as a Biscuit and Egg Sandwich or Yogurt Parfait with granola and seasonal berries. Lunch and dinner highlights include the Signature Fried Chicken Biscuit available regular or spicy and the Chicken & Williams Brothers Smoked Sausage Pot Pie with sage, carrots, peas and a buttermilk biscuit topper.

Additional offerings include seasonal salads and a host of scratch sides such as Elotes and Cornmeal Fried Okra. For something sweet, guests can indulge in traditional Southern favorites like Mississippi Mud Cheesecake and a weekly special flavor of homespun Soft Serve Ice Cream. Cabin 82’s menu will change seasonally and will feature locally grown products from area farms including Woodson Ridge Farms. “Cabin 82 pays tribute to the traditions and flavors of Mississippi,” said chef Jon Davis. “We are proud to offer a menu of high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients, which will hopefully provide our guests with a delectable taste of the South.”

Graduate Oxford is delighted to partner with Williams Brothers, a storied butcher shop and general store based out of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Williams Brothers will supply Cabin 82 with a number of different products that can be found in dishes throughout the menu. Cabin 82 is a cozy café that draws inspiration from the surrounding areas antique general stores, gracious front porches, and laid-back fairground feel. Reclaimed barn wood adorns the floors and walls and each of the upholstered furnishings are reminiscent of patchwork quilts of the past. Carnival ride-inspired fixtures add an element of fun and whimsy.
