Shepard Leaves Ole Miss Football
Ole Miss announced today that junior corner back Tee Shepard is leaving the football program.
Shepard, who is a Fresno, California native, transferred to the Ole Miss family from Notre Dame and Holmes Community College.
The Ole Miss Athletic department released the following statement from Shepard today:
“The injuries and challenges I have overcome the last few years have taken away my love for playing the game of football. I want to thank Rebel Nation for the support they have shown me in my time here. I want to especially thank Coach Freeze for showing me what unconditional love is like. I will always love this team and cheer them on as they compete for a championship. I look forward to completing my degree from Ole Miss and beginning the next phase of my life.”
Coach Freeze also released a statement:
“While we had hoped Tee would continue playing, he has chosen to conclude his career and focus on finishing his degree here at Ole Miss. We respect his decision and wish him the very best. He will always be a part of our family, and we hope he continues to use his platform to impact others.”
Shepard missed the entire season last year after tearing a tendon in his toe that required surgery during fall camp. He was getting second string reps at corner back.
This season Shepard was getting a lot of playing time on the field.
Shepard, who has moderate hearing loss, wanted to be a ambassador on the field for people with disabilities, showing that anybody can accomplish a dream and no goal is too big to achieve.

Smart move, Tee. We, OLE MISS FANS, applaud your decision to take care of yourself because OLE MISS football will always be here. I think about Chuck Mullins and admired his spirit to overcome his injury. You have done the same as much as you can. Finish your education because that will ALWAYS be your pride in attending OLE MISS.
