NWCC’s Crawford Earns Sixth Career Offensive Player of the Week Honor
After accounting for 270 all-purpose yards in a 42-40 win over Holmes and breaking another Northwest career record in the process, all-american running back Justin Crawford has been selected the MACJC Offensive Player of the Week.
The weekly conference award is the sixth of his standout career and third this season.
Crawford rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries and added two receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns. The 270 all-purpose yards helped him surpass former Ranger great and NFL first round draft choice John Avery with 3,207 career all-purpose yards.
Crawford has rushed for a league-best 977 yards (2nd in the NJCAA) and eight touchdowns this season, and dating back to last season, has rushed for 100 yards or more in eight consecutive games.
The Hardaway High School (Ga.) product is chasing several other career records, including rushing attempts (42 shy), rushing touchdowns (four shy), total touchdowns scored (three shy) and total points scored (32 shy).
Northwest, ranked No. 3 nationally, travels to Mississippi Delta on Saturday, Oct. 10 for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
