Oxford Crime Report for Monday, October 5
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: nine malicious mischief, five suspicious activities, five disturbances, three welfare concerns, two alarms, two 911 hang up calls, two burglaries at Anchorage Road and Calton Hill, a shoplifting, a fire department assist, a civil matter, a noise violation, a counterfeit currency, an animal complaint, an improper parking and a code violation.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 12 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges:
Public intoxication
Careless driving and DUI
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of drug paraphernalia and warrant served
No insurance, no driver’s license and leaving the scene of an accident
Possession of Schedule III Narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting
University police responded to the following incidents: four vehicle stops, improper equipment and drug possession on Hathorn Road, accidental hit and run on Gertrude Ford Boulevard, service call for an ambulance at Stewart Hall, and an accidental hit and run at Residential College.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector activated at 9:01 a.m. by cooking in the kitchen at Pi Kappa Phi house
Hallway smoke detector activated at 12:39 p.m. by steam from a hot shower at Northgate C
Gas line damaged at 1:00 p.m. by a delivery van at Oxford Middle School – the fire department stood by until the line was capped off
Smoke detector activation at 3:27 p.m. by janitor closet steam from hot water at Chi Omega house
Smoke detector activated at 3:32 p.m. by hair care products at Tri Delta house
