Hugh Freeze Comments on Rebels’ Performance at Press Conference Monday
This morning, Coach Hugh Freeze addressed the media after the first loss of the season: 38-10 to Florida.
Ole Miss lost a game to a much-improved Gator team over the weekend. Florida is an excellent defense team that made explosive plays on the Rebels.
“We certainly did not play our best. Some of that had to do with them (and) some had to do with us not making our plays,” Freeze said.
Against Florida, the Rebels faced a challenge through a different defensive front in The Swamp. The Rebels struggled in the environment with their own quickness. Against Alabama, the Rebels had success early in the game but not so against Florida.
With these mistakes that Ole Miss made in the first three drives of the game, it was difficult for the Ole Miss’ offense to recover. At the midway point of the season, Coach Freeze assessed the season.
“We are not elite right now,” Freeze said.
This weekend the Rebels welcome the New Mexico State Aggies for Homecoming.

I believe in my Rebels. We just have to shake it off and play our best the rest of the season. I do recall a year that we beat Florida and they went on to win the championship. So I say we are far from done. Forward Rebels!!!!!

Ole Miss still controls their own destiny in the West! Bama cannot say the same. I would definitely say that it is not far from over! Regain that confidence and keep the eyes on the prize! Hotty Toddy!
