Oxford Crime Report: Monday, September 28
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three petit larcenies, three suspicious activities, two noise violations, two welfare concerns, two 911 hang up calls, two disturbances, an alarm, a harassment, a shoplifting, a motorist assist, an ambulance assist, and a lost property.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 26 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
(2) No driver’s license
Ran a stop sign with a suspended driver’s license
University police responded to the following calls: eight vehicle stops, a report of a suspicious person in the Sorority Circle, and a speeding with a suspended driver’s license on West Road.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activation at 3:22 p.m. caused by mist from a Vick’s at Stewart Hall, and a gas spill at 5:24 p.m. where the fire department washed about five gallons of diesel fuel out of the parking lot at 2142 West Jackson Avenue.
