The Mississippi Flood Futbol Club medaled in five divisions this weekend at the Copa del Alliance in Meridian.

The Flood is North Mississippi’s only all D1, select, soccer club. Eleven teams from the Flood participated in the tournament.

Flood Director of Coaching, Chuck Trost, was pleased with the results from the tournament.

“Alliance always hosts a competitive tournament. Our coaches did a great job preparing our players for the heat. I am very pleased with the development of our players and the club as a whole,” said Trost. “It is great to see our teams competing with larger clubs and not only being competitive but winning. I am proud of the dedication of our coaches and parents, and I look forward to the next tournament.”

Overall the Flood had 141 goals scored while allowing 76 goals, while winning 2 Divisions and finishing second  in three divisions. Trost added, “As a club, we are excited to provide a competitive alternative to park and rec soccer. Our club is growing. We continue to add great players and parents, and we are very pleased with the product we are putting out as our players develop skill and passion for the game of soccer.”
