Pavilion at Ole Miss to Open Jan.7, Boast New Restaurants, Technology
According to Athletics Director Ross Bjork, the Pavilion at Ole Miss is right on track to open on January 7, 2016, and plans still include a much-anticipated food court, technology hub and the largest center-hung video board in all of college basketball.
“Our contractor, BL Harbert, and our architect, AECom, are doing a great job and are on track to meet that opening date,” Bjork said in a release from Monday’s media conference. “The unique features we thought of as we designed that building, the front door of Ole Miss Athletics along All-American drive between the stadium, the FedEx center, and now the Pavilion, are becoming a reality.”
The food court area will be in the north center lobby of the Pavilion and will have a Steak-N-Shake and Raising Cane’s. The restaurants will maintain regular business hours during the week and will be part of the concession offerings during athletic and special events. Both locations will accept Flex Dollars and meal plans with a Plus 1. The restaurants are expected to open on January 7.
According to Bjork, a soon-to-be-announced technology hub will be a part of the lobby area as well, and it will allow students, faculty and fans to connect in a “unique way” when they enter the Pavilion. ” We will have further details of [this] as we come together,” Bjork said.
The Pavilion will also hold the largest center-hung video board in all of college basketball. The board will be anchored by four screens measuring 12 feet tall abd 22 feet wide. “It is more than double what we have in the coliseum right now,” Bjork said. “We did that on purpose to create a unique gameday experience inside the Pavilion. The Pavilion is progressing and coming along at a great level.”
Bjork also said the the parking garage is now open and will be ready for use on Saturday for the home opener.

I hope the new arena will display the Anthony Boone retired jersey. It was absent from the Tad Pad the past few seasons.
