Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, August 27
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six disturbances, five suspicious activities, three improper parking, two 911 hang up calls, a public intoxication, a simple assault, a noise violations, a fire department assist, an identity theft, a scam, a careless driver, a lost property, a false pretense, and a civil matter.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 21 traffic citations and made 19 arrests on the following charges:

- Petit larceny
- Embezzlement
- Fake ID and littering
- Careless driving and DUI
- Public intoxication and fake ID
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Careless driving, no tag and DUI
- Public intoxication and disorderly conduct
- Shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Public intoxication, littering and open container
- Public intoxication and minor in possession of alcohol
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a fake ID at Kincannon Hall, a petit larceny at Turner Center, an accidental hit and run at Jackson Avenue Center and a traffic detail at Barnard Observatory.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a cancelled call at 9:38 a.m. at Kappa Kappa Gamma house, a smoke detector activated at 6:29 p.m. by a resident cooking at The Quarter condos, a smoke detector malfunction at 11:22 p.m. at St. Anthony Hall, and an A/C unit went out at 12:28 a.m. smoking up the house at Phi Kappa Psi house.
