Oxford Crime Report: Monday, August 24
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, five disturbances, three lost properties, three burglaries at Kangaroo gas station, Hathorn Road and The Mark, two ambulance assists, two harassing phone calls, an improper parking, a noise violation, a petit larceny, a suspicious activity, a code enforcement, a motorist assist, a malicious mischief, a careless driving, a simple assault, an embezzlement, a welfare concern, and an improper parking.
Oxford police investigated one wreck, issued 18 traffic citations and made 12 arrests on the following charges:
- (4) Minor in possession of alcohol
- (2) Disorderly conduct and failure to comply
- Public intoxication
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Careless driving and DUI
- Public intoxication and possession of a fake ID
- Suspended driver’s license, expired tag and DUI
- Consumption of alcohol on a city street and a minor in possession of alcohol
University police responded to the following incidents: five vehicle stops, a possession of drug paraphernalia on Rebel Drive, a broken taillight on Gertrude Ford Boulevard, a vehicle wreck at Women’s Athletics Complex and an accidental hit and run at Crosby Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a kitchen fire at 12:41 a.m. at Oak View Apartments, a grease fire at 8:55 a.m. that went out upon arrival at the Kroger Deli and a yogurt machine motor burn at 8:54 p.m. at Tutti Frutti Yogurt shop.
