Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, August 19
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: nine alarms, four improper parking, four welfare concerns, three fire department assists, two disturbances, two petit larcenies, two civil matters, two 911 hang up calls, two animal complaints, a noise violation, a recovered property, a motorist assist, an identity theft, and a suspicious activity.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 41 traffic citations and made 14 arrests on the following charges:
- (3) Public intoxication
- (2) Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Careless driving and DUI
- One headlight and minor in possession of alcohol
- Careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI
- Minor in possession of alcohol and possession of a fake ID
- Wrong way on a one-way and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of schedule I narcotics, minor in possession of alcohol, noise violation and littering
- Noise violation and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Disturbing the peace and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia
University police responded to the following incidents: nine vehicle stops and a disturbance at Campus Walk.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector malfunction at 10:50 a.m. on the fourth floor of Baptist Memorial Hospital, a blown transformer at 4:05 p.m. during a storm on Molly Barr Road, and a smoke detector malfunction at 7:59 p.m. at Beta Theta Pi house.
