Ole Miss Fans get Sneak Preview of Book about 2014 Rebel Football Season
A new book by award-winning journalist Billy Watkins, Bo: A Quarterback’s Journey Through an SEC Season, will be released in hardcover on October 1, 2015. But for the next 72 hours, diehard Ole Miss fans can purchase a “sneak preview” paperback copy of the book.
Bo: A Quarterback’s Journey Through an SEC Season is a much bigger story than one year in the life of a college football player. Watkins (who interviewed Bo before and after every game) takes the reader through the highs and lows of the historic 2014 college football season — a time when Mississippi was at the epicenter of the first College Football Playoff.
Readers will relive the glory of the Alabama victory, the frustration of the game at Tiger Stadium, the excitement of being ranked in the top four of the first CBF Playoff committee selections, the heartache of Laquon Treadwell’s horrific injury at the 1-yard line, and Ole Miss’ domination in the 2014 Egg Bowl.
Coach Hugh Freeze said, “I love Bo. I don’t have the success; my wife and kids don’t have the life we have; these 32 staff members in here don’t have the life they have and the raises they’ve had . . . we don’t have all of that without the success Bo helped bring. I don’t take that lightly.”
Gary Danielson, CBS Analyst and former NFL quarterback, added, “Bo’s place in Ole Miss football history potentially could be as important as any of the great players who have come through that program. I’ll tell you this: Tim Tebow couldn’t have done at Ole Miss what Bo did. Tebow didn’t throw well enough.”
Few seasons in Rebel history have delivered such drama. In Bo, readers get a glimpse into behind-the-scenes conversations and conflicts — and stories that have never been told anywhere before.
The book will be on sale at the inaugural Mississippi Book Festival (to be held on the Capitol grounds) on Saturday, August 22, 1015. Or, the book can be ordered online at http://www.nautiluspublishing.com/nautilus-store/
