Oxford Commons Announces Charity Bowling Tournament
Oxford Commons, a local master-planned community, in partnership with the North Central Mississippi REALTORS® Association, has announced plans for a charity bowling tournament to benefit Oxford Lovepacks.
The tournament will take place at Premier Lanes, 204 Commonwealth Boulevard, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.
“This bowling tournament is an opportunity for the real estate industry and other Oxford professionals to show our support for Lovepacks,” announced David Blackburn, President of Blackburn Communities, the developer of Oxford Commons. “Lovepacks is such an important part of our school programs providing healthy meals to our children in need. All of the children in our community deserve the opportunity to learn and grow without worrying about their next meal. We are thankful to the North Central Mississippi REALTORS Association and other community businesses for partnering with us so that we can support this great cause.”
The Oxford Commons Charity Bowling Tournament is open to anyone who would like to attend. Teams of four to six players can compete for prizes while benefiting Oxford Lovepacks. Registration is limited by the number of lanes available. Teams will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the site or call (662) 236-0060 to register your team.
Lovepacks discretely delivers non-perishable food to children’s backpacks before they go home each Friday afternoon. What started as a small project now delivers over 160 packs of food each week.
“This bowling tournament is a new avenue for gathering support for the community,” added Linda Allgood, the Executive Officer of the North Central Mississippi REALTORS® Association. “It will be a wonderful opportunity to have some fun and friendly competition, but ultimately it will give us an opportunity to help the most precious group in our community, our children. No child should go hungry, not even for a day. We are pleased to partner with Oxford Commons in this endeavor and hope that it will be something we can expand in the future. There are always children in need.”
