Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, August 13
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four disturbances, three alarms, two noise violations, two suspicious activities, two welfare concerns, two harassments, a petit larceny, and a careless driver.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 35 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
- (2) Careless driving and DUI
- (2) Public intoxication and possession of fake ID
- Public intoxication
- Domestic violence – simple assault
- Shoplifting
University police department responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, a moving violation per improper equipment with a suspended license on Fraternity Row, a moving violation per failure to dim headlights with a fake ID, a domestic violence per simple assault off campus and a service call for an ambulance at Manning Way.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a fan motor on the air handling unit malfunction at 9:13 p.m. causing smoke in the house at 309 Murray Street and a cancelled call at 10:10 p.m. at 400 Whitney Cove.
