Ole Miss’ Clair Named to Preseason All-SEC Team

Preseason practice for the Ole Miss volleyball team continued Thursday with more work on ball control and passing and a little 6v6 action at the Gillom Sports Center. Good news came at the end of the morning practice, as senior Nakeyta Clair has been named to the preseason All-SEC Team in an announcement by the league office.
Clair, who earned All-SEC honors as a junior last year, is one of nine players to make the preseason team. She is coming off an excellent campaign in 2014 that saw her set the single-season record for kills with 366 and finish second in the league in hitting percentage (.405).
“It’s great to know that other coaches see my talent, and it makes me happy for my last year. I just want to keep working hard and help the team reach our goals,” Clair said.
Clair and the team will continue two-a-days Friday in preparation for the season opener Aug. 28 against Oral Roberts, before taking part in Meet the Rebels Day presented by Cannon Motors, Saturday.
Members of the squad will be autographing new team posters and visiting with fans from 1 until 3 p.m., at the Manning Center. Fans posting on social media about their Meet the Rebels Day experience should use the hashtag #MeetTheRebels.
