Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, August 12
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, three alarms, three 911 hang up calls, two motorist assists, two welfare concerns, two shoplifting, two improper parking, a noise violation, a careless driving, a fire department assist, a petit larceny, a malicious mischief, an animal complaint and a civil matter.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 30 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
- Careless driving and DUI
- Careless driving, no car insurance and DUI
- Speeding and suspended driver’s license
- Public intoxication
- No tag, no insurance and suspended driver’s license
- No tag and minor in possession of alcohol
- Warrant served
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a rape off-campus, an accidental hit and run on Hathorn Road, an accidental hit and run on Hill Road, a suspicious vehicle at Campus Walk, a possession of drug paraphernalia at Campus Walk, and a speeding with a suspended license on Hathorn Road.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: a stand by for an ambulance at 1:05 a.m. for a patient who passed out and hit his head at 433 North 15th Street.
