Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, August 4
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, three larcenies, two assaults, two malicious mischief, two fire department assist, an ambulance assist, a disturbance, a found property, a motorist assist, a suspicious vehicle, a welfare concern and a careless driving.
Oxford police investigated eight vehicle accidents, issued 35 traffic tickets and made five arrests on the following charges:
- (2) Public drunk
- Careless driving, DUI and resisting arrest
- Seatbelt violation and no driver’s license
- Warrant probation violation
University police responded to the following incidents: 10 vehicle stops.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated at 7:01 a.m. by burned toast at Hampton Inn Conference Center, a smoke detector activated at 4:16 p.m. by cooking at Rooster’s and a water flow alarm at 4:19 p.m. caused by workers turning on the wrong water valve at Lafayette Place building 2000.
