Oxford and Lafayette County citizens can step back in time Tuesday night for an old-fashioned Election Day Square Watch Party from 7-10 p.m. in front of City Hall.

The event is free to the public, and people are invited to bring lawn chairs and listen to up-to-the-minute election results while enjoying live music from the Oxford All-Stars and catered food for purchase from Sunday’s Best catering.

The Square Watch Party is intended to mimic the election watch parties of the past, in which citizens and candidates would gather together in front of the courthouse square to await the final election results.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 for the August primary. All statewide and county offices will be on the ballot.

The general election will be held in November.
