James Flemons – Credit Card Fraud
On Wednesday, July 29, investigators with the Oxford police department arrested James Flemons, 51 of Thaxton, Mississippi, for credit card Fraud. Flemons was given a bond of $5,000.
Kelly Gordon – Burglary
The Oxford police department took a report of a residential burglary that occurred on June 18 and another residential burglary that occurred on July 12. Through an investigation, Kelly Gordon was found to be a suspect in both burglaries. On July 29, Gordon was arrested for Burglary – Breaking and Entering Dwelling House or Inner Door of Dwelling after witnesses were able to give information implicating Gordon. Gordon was taken before Judge Mickey Avent for his initial appearance and his bond was set at $15,000. Gordon was already out on a felony bond from a previous case and that bond was revoked.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six suspicious activities, five alarms, four disturbances, two careless drivers, a lost wallet, a grand larceny, a motorist assist, a petit larceny, a 911 hang up call, a welfare concern, an ambulance assist, and a noise violation.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 44 traffic citations and made five arrests on the following charges:
- (2) possession of drug paraphernalia
- (2) warrant served
- a DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: five vehicle stops, a report of a suspicious person at Physical Plant Office, a burglary at Natural Products Center, a report of a suspicious person at Ford Center, and a disturbance at Campus Walk.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated at 7:56 a.m. by workers at 625 Park Drive, a smoke detector activated at 11:29 a.m. at Mother Goose, a gas line hit by construction workers at 1:29 p.m. at Hot Spur Lane, and a smoke detector activated at 3:30 p.m. by workers drilling in the alarm panel at Campus Creek Building No. 1.
