Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, July 16
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, four alarms, three motorist assists, two welfare concerns, two 911 hang up calls, a disturbance, a petit larceny, a forgery, and an improper parking.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 40 traffic citations and made nine arrests on the following charges: (5) public intoxications, a possession of drug paraphernalia with possession of schedule II narcotics; a possession of drug paraphernalia; no seatbelt with a suspended driver’s license and no car insurance; and a warrant served.
University police responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, a traffic detail at the baseball field, a traffic detail at Women’s Terrance, and a service call for an ambulance at Hefley Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated at 12:57 p.m. by work on the venting system in the kitchen at Johnson Commons, fire alarm pull station activated at 1:49 p.m. by an accidental hit from sheetrock workers at High Cotton 110, an air duct detector malfunction at 5:36 p.m. at Natural Products, and a heat duct detector activation at 9:20 p.m. at 633 Park Drive.
