Oxford Treehouse Gallery Bids Benny Melton Farewell
The Oxford Treehouse Gallery will feature Benny Melton’s work this Friday night, July 17, along with 15 artists from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Melton has covered a lot of ground in the nearly five years he has been in Oxford. While earning his MFA in painting at the University of Mississippi, Melton’s Plein Air paintings of Oxford, its community and the Ole Miss campus were widely collected.
His work isn’t limited to Mississippi landscapes, and his figurative work is equally coveted according to the release from Oxford Treehouse Gallery. His artwork can be viewed here on the gallery’s website. Many can recognize popular sites from the Ventress Hall to the Courthouse Square to the Sardis.
Vivian Neill said in the release, “We are going to miss seeing these two around Oxford as they make their new home in Yazoo City.”
The Oxford Treehouse Gallery is located on 328 County Road 418. The event, “Bye Bye Benny,” can be located here on Facebook. For more details visit oxfordtreehousegallery.com and its Facebook page.
