The Blake at Oxford Hosts Founders Club Reception
Oxford as a retirement community is one of the city’s thriving features.
The Blake at Oxford is opening its doors this fall at 110 Ed Perry Boulevard but in the meanwhile interested Oxonians are welcome per invitation to the Founders Club Reception this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Towne Place Suites on 105 Ed Perry Boulevard.
Its COO, regional vice president and executive chef will all be at this gathering to visit with guests as they tour the portion of the building for the first time with future residents and partners.
Laura Barber, its director of sales, said, “Guests will enjoy cocktails and heavy hor d’oeuvres prepared by our executive chef, Damien. While this event is invitation only we anticipate having an open house once we open our doors this fall.”
The Blake is a retirement community with six locations across the South offering assisted living and memory care with resort-style services along with roomy suites that offer individual climate controls. Within The Blake, there is a salon and spa, a media viewing room and a game and resident lounge. The residents will enjoy three meals served restaurant-style daily with specials and a variety of menu choices. The residents can choose among a plethora of activities that range between physical, creative, social, spiritual and educational. The nursing staff will be on hand 24 hours a day. The Blake also offer respite stays.
The Blake is currently under construction. Here is a video of the progress thus far, courtesy of The Blake’s website.
Barber said, “As Oxford continues to become a thriving retirement destination the demand for our community will be paramount. We are happy to provide Oxford with a place for seniors to call home which will provide them opportunities to remain engaged and active in our community. Oxford offers so many options for them to participate and lead fulfilling lives.”
She said that The Blake will also offer internships to University of Mississippi students enrolled in Hospitality Management courses this summer.

I believe the article should say, “Enjoy three ‘meals’ ” and not “males”.

This article is very poorly written and full of errors. Are there not editors on staff??

clearly the “meals” typo has been corrected and I would beg to differ that the article is “very poorly written and full of errors”, to the contrary – as I just read the article and found no errors…
