Oxford Crime Report: Monday, July 13
Oxford police responded to the following calls: seven alarms, three suspicious activities, three 911 hang up calls, two harassments, two motorist assists, a disturbance, an assist to University police department, an ambulance assist, an improper parking, a fire department assist, and a credit card fraud.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 11 traffic citations and made four arrests on the following charges: a public intoxication; a warrant served; a careless driving with no seatbelt and a DUI; and a suspended driver’s license with no car insurance nor seatbelt with but with possession of drug paraphernalia.
University police department responded to the following incidents: a burglary with a grand larceny of more than $1,000 at Intercollegiate Athletics, an accidental property damage at Conner Hall, a moving violation per not wearing a seatbelt on Chucky Mullins Drive, and a moving violation per running a stop sign with a suspended driver’s license on Hathorn Road.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a person stuck in an elevator at 2:26 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital, an alarm company testing the system at 2:49 p.m. at Oxford Intermediate School, a grass fire at 3:36 p.m. caused by a construction worker hitting a power line at Old Taylor Road at Country Road 3000 construction site, and a smoke detector malfunction at 6:33 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
