Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, July 1
On June 17, the Oxford police department took several reports of auto burglaries throughout the city. Through the investigation, a surveillance video was recovered of multiple individuals breaking into cars at an apartment complex. We were able to identify the suspects in the video and made confirmation through interviews. On June 30, Kyree White, Robert Ivy, Kenzie Phillips, all 18 of Oxford, and a juvenile were arrested and charged with seven counts of auto burglary. They were taken before a justice court judge for their initial appearance and bond was set at $10,000.

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, four welfare concerns, two disturbances, two auto burglaries at Anderson Estates and Saddle Creek, two lost properties, two suspicious activities, harassing phone calls, a malicious mischief, an animal complaint, a code violation, a credit card fraud, a trespassing and a civil matter.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued two traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges: (2) shoplifting; careless driving with DUI; public intoxication; no headlights with possession of fake ID card and DUI; no seatbelt, no car insurance but with suspended driver’s license and DUI; no insurance and DUI.
University police responded to the following incidents: eight vehicle stops, a moving violation per running a stop sign with a suspended license on Sorority Row, and a moving violation per suspended license with no vehicle tag on University place.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector activated at 9:32 a.m. by workers soldering in the riser room at Pure Ryde Spin Studio, and a person stuck in an elevator at 1:04 a.m. at Hampton Inn.
