Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, June 23
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven alarms, three petit larcenies, three suspicious activities, a careless driver, a malicious mischief, a 911 hang up call, a simple assault, a fire department assist, an animal complaint, a lost property and a false pretense.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 32 traffic citations and made four arrests on the following charges: a public intoxication; no headlights with careless driving and DUI; a careless driving with DUI; and no tag nor driver’s license nor car insurance.
University police responded to the following incidents: five vehicle stops, a disturbance at Campus Walk, a moving violation per improper equipment with a suspended driver’s license on Fraternity Row, a moving violation per driving without headlights and a suspended driver’s license on Grove Loop, and a petit larceny at J.D. Williams Library.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a gas line hit by the workers at 3:04 p.m. behind the C-Spire, a general fire alarm malfunction at 4:14 p.m. at 139 Peyton Circle, an air conditioning unit lock up at 5:28 p.m. at 265 North Lamar, and a smoke detector activated at 7:53 p.m. at 425 Turnberry Court.
