Ole Miss Journalism Student Places Second in Miss Tennessee 2015 Pageant
Ole Miss sophomore Christine Williamson, Miss Smokey Mountains, was the second runner-up in the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant on June 20 in Jackson, Tennessee.
The 19-year-old broadcast journalism major will receive a $7,000 scholarship to continue her studies.
“Words can’t describe how incredibly humbled and honored I am to have received second runner-up at the Miss Tennessee (MAO) Scholarship Pageant this year,” Williamson wrote on her Facebook page. “It was such an honor to hear my name called out of 36 incredible, talented women, and it was a shock to be left standing in the top 3!”
Williamson’s platform was “We Can’t Forget the Families,” and she performed a vocal rendition of “Ghost” for the talent part of the competition.
The winner of the pageant was Hannah Robison, Miss Scenic City. Other honorees include first runner-up Grace Burgess, Miss Tipton County; third runner-up Cassidy Sheppard, Miss Lexington and fourth runner-up Stephanie McKain, Miss Chattanooga.
