Oxford Crime Report: Monday, June 15
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, two found properties, two animal complaints, a suspicious activity, a suspicious person, a 911 hang-up call, a careless driving, a welfare concern, a disturbance, and a fire department assist.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 20 tickets and made eight arrests on the following charges: (2) speeding with a suspended driver’s license; no seatbelt nor car insurance and with a suspended driver’s license; an out of jurisdiction warrant served; a possession of controlled substance with possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI to first degree; a possession of controlled substance and DUI to first degree; a public drunk with resisting arrest; and a public drunk.
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a report of a suspicious person at the Airport at Ole Miss, and a willful trespassing with a public drunk at J.D. Williams Library.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a second-floor smoke detector malfunction at 12:02 a.m. at Alpha Tau Omega house, a report of smelling smoke at 3:35 a.m. but fire department discovered nothing at Bishop Hall, and an alarm system testing at 10:50 a.m. at Soulshine Pizza.
